stuck: the places we get stuck & the God who sets us free by Jennie Allen

Powerful is the best way I can find to describe Jennie Allen’s study, “stuck: the places we get stuck & the God who sets us free.” This Bible Study designed for a women’s small group hits all those spots we don’t want to admit that we struggle with, but need to face in order to be free of them. With eight DVD introductions to eight lessons, Allen’s study leads you to deeper knowledge of yourself, God’s Word, and how you can trust enough to let go & let God. The study is not intended to be comfortable – the point is to look in those dark corners of your heart and share what is hidden there with the others in your group – but to be a “safe place to bare our souls and find freedom.”
With lesson titles such as “broken,” “scared,” and “overwhelmed,” there is no doubt that Allen’s study is going to take you on a pretty intense journey. Allen’s honesty about her own struggles with these very issues help you understand that you’re not alone, especially when she tells us thing like, “God saw my pride as a beautiful opportunity to expose the holes in my view of myself and Him.” This study is a dynamic way to help you realize that the only one holding God back in your life is you. It will help anyone truly desiring deeper intimacy to open up all  of the windows in your life that are stuck tight with sin & shame to let in the fresh, clean air of the fullness of God.
I received a complimentary copy of this study from the BookSneeze Blogger Book Review program. I was not required to give a positive review – all opinions are my own.
