Winter Sky

I have to admit – I love the view from my front porch. On a clear day, I am blessed with views of some of the most magnificent mountains. With the Cimmarons and San Juans to the east and south and the Grand Mesa to the north, the beauty is ever-changing and always amazing. Yet, even when the clouds roll in, the beauty doesn’t end.

This morning, I woke up to a steely, gray sky, low, snow-filled clouds completely obscuring my beloved San Juans, which carries its own beauty and drama.

Yet, within a few minutes, the clouds began to break up, creating dramatic chiaroscuro vistas.

And now, the clouds have lifted to their normal white, fluffiness and that brilliant, blue Colorado sky has started melting the snow we got last night. Winter in Colorado – in a word, beautiful. Wish you were all here to enjoy it with me. Blessings to you!
