Carol Cook has done a wonderful job of taking us into the lives of eight remarkable women of the Bible. Starting with Bathsheba (and continuing through Sarah, Hagar, Rebekah, Leah, Rachel, Tamar, and Eve), Cook shares the joys and tribulations of these women from their points of view – what they may have been thinking and feeling at those pivotal moments in their lives.
I so enjoyed how Cook presented these tales. I must admit that I’ve always thought Bathsheba to be a bit of a temptress. Yet, Cook expertly shines light on the fact that Bathsheba really didn’t have a choice – after all, David was king. And to see both sides of the stories of Sarah and Hagar, as well as Leah and Rachel – wonderful! Cook’s work gives an incredible perspective to those Biblical stories we’ve known for so long. If you’re interested in learning more about these Biblical women, I’d definitely reccomend Carol Cook’s collection, BATHSHEBA Bathed in Grace.
