My review:
Weird Writing Prompts is one of those books that every author should have on their shelf. The first half of the book is packed with crazy questions to get your writerly mind in gear. They can help you take your characterization to a whole new level while having fun. And I really loved how Janeen not only complied this group of fascinating and diverting questions, but she also explains how different questions can help to reveal insights into your characters, making them more lifelike and relatable, and how the answers to these questions can develop plot lines and subplots and spinoffs and myriad other things.
But not only will this book help with developing your characters and strengthening your plot, the second half of the book is filled with wonderful social media marketing ideas, perfect for the average introverted author who needs to find fresh and fun ways to connect with their audience.
This book is gold in paper form. If you are an established author, you need this book. If you are working on your first novel, you need this book. If you have aspirations to write, you need this book. Who am I kidding? Everyone needs this book, if only to have crazy questions to ask your friends over lunch, to enliven you next family reunion, or to fill in those awkward moments on a blind date. 😉
I can only give this 5 out of 5 stars, because it’s a book that I will pick up over and over again, even if only for a chuckle. 😀 Pick up your copy today!
